The Deutsche Allgemeine Zeitung, Herr Stinnes' organ, has published a

furious diatribe by the great ironmaster against France, England, and America. The failure of the Paris Conference, Herr Stinnes thinks, was primarily "due to the deception of the French people by the French Press, and from this statement, according to the summary in the Morning Post of Monday last, he proceeds to the denunciation of the French Press as " utterly corrupt." Through the Press, again, France had been led to believe that the fall of Mr. Lloyd George meant that his successor would be a much stronger supporter of the Poincare policy, and when the inevitable disillusionment came the French became mad with disappointment. Herr Stinnes then turns his guns on England and declares that the British plan would be just as injurious to Germany as the French. Germany could pay at most only 10 per cent. of the amount fixed by the London ultimatum.
