Spiu.—An insurrection of some kind has occurred and been sup-

pressed in Loja. The insurgents, some three hundred in number, seized the town, uttering some Republican and, it is said, Protestant cries. A body of troops marched against the town, and dispersed them through the country. Marshal O'Donnell has issued orders to all local officials to deal severely with disturbers of public order. The generals who betrayed San Domingo to the Spaniards have re- ceived large grants of forfeited estates.
