No one will be greatly surprized that Harold Wilson has not referred the Navy lark to the Press Council. Indeed, after what we now know of the background to the Daily Herald story Sir Alec must be tempted to refer it himself. Per- sonally I reacted to Harold Wilson's manly plea that we should cease arguing on the basis of personalities and misrepresentations much as Dorothy Parker did to her first exposure to a Christopher •Robin play. I fwowwed up.
