Hitre You a Strong Will? By C. G. Leland. (G.

Redway. 3s. 6d.)—Mr. Leland devotes this volume to a subject which can be best defined by his own sub-title, " How to Develop Will-power or any other Faculty or Attribute of the Mind, and render it habitual by the easy process of Self-Hypnotism." To be hypnotised by another may be good or bad, as the case may be ; but to hypnotise yourself, that is, brace up your own powers to the doing of laudable actions, must, says Mr. Leland, be good. You will, as you are going to sleep, that you will be cheerful, well-balanced in mind, and generally what you ought to be, and you are. That is Mr. rieland's diseovery„ writ short. Of course, the common experience of willing to wake at a certain hour is analogous. Most of us have found that we wake too soon. This is probably because we fall into the error, against which Mr. Leland warns us, of willing too vehemently. 1111 is a curious book, and we venture to say, without accepting it as a whole, worth reading.
