Crowd concern

Sir: Lord Justice Taylor's commission of inquiry into events at Hillsborough is not a hysterical response to a transient drama, as as Auberon Waugh suggest (Another voice, 6 May). Overcrowding at grounds, and the safety of spectators generally, have been issues of major and continuous con- cern to the FSA since our foundation in 1985. The establishment of the inquiry shows that the Government now sensibly shares this concern.
