an important letter the Factories Bill from several well-known women. e are unfeignecty glad that at last the Factories Bill, Iiich consolidates much factory legislation in a lucid hole, has been issued for consideration. It is the t consolidating measure since 1901, and it sweeps way the useless distinetion between factories' and orkshops. The safety provisions in the Bill are cellent, but we agree with the -signatories of the letter t the welfare clauses of the Bill are inadequate. lie provisions of the 1924 Bill for washing facilities d for the drying of clothing have disappeared. Surely lese provisions could be restored. Even rough washing eilities are better than none, and where there are ating pipes in factories it is very easy to arrange for e drying of clothes. Workers may not suffer in a arm factory, but the return home in wet outer clothing uses much unnecessary sickness. * .*
