One James Atkins, described as a " commercial traveller," whose

views of commerce seem to be those of mine Ancient Pistol, was yesterday committed for trial on a charge of stealing a watch from Colonel Macan, of the Indian Army. The thief snatched his plunder as the Colonel was leaving the °penthouse in the Haymarket ; but, being seen and followed, he was secured.
