Something new in pests this week. I noticed a few

days ago an oily stain on a lower lawn, and thought it was caused by droppings from the mower. But today it was twice the size, and on being examined, proved to be a mass of maggots about half an inch long, grey-brown. Three feet away another patch is beginning. It is a repulsive sight, and I shall lose no time in delousing the lawn.
