REFERENCE STUDIES IN MEDIEVAL HISTORY. In three parts. By - James Westfall

Thompson, Ph.D., Litt.D. (Cambridge University Press for University of Chicago Press.) This bibliography, compiled by the Professor of Mediaeval History at Chicago University, contains carefully classified references to almost every aspect of history, education, social life, literature, music, art, philosophy, law, economics and science between A.D. 180 and A.D. 1498, including the history of playing cards, the rise of capitalism and the dancing mania.

It has useful chronological tables, a sensible preface, lavish space for additions, and gives special attention to articles in periodicals, and what is rarer, to 'chapters in books. It should be in the library of every serious student of the history of modern civilization.
