In. the French part of the line there have been

the usual heavy bombardments, but no event of any great moment is recorded. The Italian news also calls for little comment, but we note with great satisfaction the statement communicated to Thursday's papers that in the Upper Adriatic the Austrian submarine 'U 12' was torpedoed by an Italian submarine and sunk with all on board. It is curious to note that this is only the second time in the war, as far as is known, that a sub- marine has been torpedoed.
