Mr. Eric Parker has compiled a very delightful anthology on

cricket in Between the Wickets (Philip Allan. 7s. 6d.). How .delicately etched are these few words about the meads at Winchester !—" Grey walls, a Cathedral, a sunlit hill, sunlit white figures ; parasols everyWrhere ; somewhere blue muslin and black silk—but always low grey walls and a crowned hill." This book makes a very pleasant gift.
