We do not feel that Mr. John Masefield's charming poem,

South and East, is in any way enhanced by Miss Jitcynth Parsons' illustrations, which do not in our opinion convey the atmo- sphere of the poem. It is not possible to illustrate an imaginative theme in a realistic style which is what we feel Miss Parsons has attempted to do in this volume, published by the Medici Press at 10s. 6d.
