Unlettered

A reader received this letter from the Strand Theatre, Aldwych.

Thank you for your letter and I am sorry to hear that you have found cause to complain.

I was very surprised to learn that both drinks you purchased at our Theatre was unsatisfactory. I only wished, you had complained, whilst you were hear. Because, I am sure that my bar staff would have given you a cooler Orange Juice from their fridge. They always re- stack their fridge the night before to ensure that the drinks are cold.

Your letter is the first complaint I have ever received about our Coffee, and i have been empoldyed at this The- atre for nearly four years. I feel that Coffee taste is a personal prefeence and the fact that is was cold is puzzling, as our Coffee is served from a Thermal Jug which normally keeps our Coffee hot.

I have spoken to our cleaners regard- ing our soap dispenses and it appears that they have been filling them, but were not checking that they were work- ing properly. This problem has now been resolved, which I thank you for drawing this matter to my attention.

We do inspect our toilets and I am aware of these problems and a number of other problems within this Theatre. We try our best to keep our Theatre well maintained and looking at this The- atre in general, I feel, and I hope you will agree that it looks good. This has been achieved on limited funds. We are always trying to improve our facitities to the general public and we shall continue to do so.

Once again, 1 apolOgies for any incon- venience this has caused you and I hope that this letter expains our position.
