PANORAMA'

SIR,—Quoodle says 'it is to article of faith amongst Tories that Panorama is the equivalent of a free Labour Party political broadcast.'

Since Sir Alec Douglas-Home became Prime Minister last October, the following Ministers have been interviewed in Panorama: The Prime Minister himself; Mr. Julian Amery; Mr. Michael Noble; Mr. Edward Heath; Mr. Peter Thorneycroft; and Mr. R. A. Butler.

There has also been one Conservative back-bencher, Mr. Basil de Ferranti.

Quoodle, of course, is at liberty to regard all these appearances as the equivalent of free Labour Party political broadcasts. But I doubt whether he can expect universal agreement.
