Sir: In answer to Mr Kavanagh's rhetorical question, `Does anyone . . . read the poems printed in this magazine?, (Life and letters, 24 January) my reply is, yes, I do, and I may say they make a lot more sense than most poems printed in most maga- zines. I particularly enjoyed 'I Love the Laurel Green' by Charles Causley (24 January).
