This week's meeting of Alvis, Limited, was necessarily a critical one, but it ended in a victory for the board. It will be recalled that the accounts for the 19 months' trading period showed a trading loss of £29,980 and that no dividend was paid. The Chairman, Mr. T. G. John, announced that raw material difficulties in the motor-car section had been overcome, and that this department was working to capacity, while the 'company's aero-engine was undergoing the Government's civil test.
