Spectators in Court

SIR, —1 take strong exception to Dr. R. D. Reid's statement that the public galleries of assize courts are attended " for pornographic reasons.' No man or woman can be regarded as a complete citizen who has never troubled to see how courts of law work. I have always maintained that it is an essential part of everyone's education to attend a police court, a criminal court and a civil court at least once.—Your obedient servant,
