A Hundred Years Ago

THE " SPECTATOR," JUNE 12TH, 1830. • FATAL FIGHT.

Byrne, the slayer of M•Kay, in pugilistic conflict, has been arrested. We trust that he will be sent to exhibit his powers at Sydney or Hobart Town. A number of fashionable ruffians are said to have been present at the brutal exhibition ; and hopes are entertained that some of them will be sent to the treadmill for six months, as eiders and abettors in the slaughter of ki`Kay.

RICHES or THE PEELS.

- The will of the late Sir Robert Peel was proved on Tuesday last. (The former statement on this subject had been premature.) The personalty was sworn at what is called " upper value "—that is, as exceeding nine hundred thousand pounds, the largest sum, we believe, that any will has ever been proved under.
