The power of Archer's pen

From Mr John O'Byrne Sir: I wouldn't necessarily agree with you that the author of such works as Kane and Abel and A Quiver Full of Arrows is a bad writer (Leading article, 7 June). Jeffrey Archer is one of Lady Thatcher's favourite authors and is the third most heavily borrowed in our local library. Some day he might even win the Booker or the Whitbread.
