The Starkenden Quest. By Gilbert Collins. (Duckworth. 7s. 6d. net.)—A

treasure-hunt story in which certain precious jewels called eyestones are the object of the quest. As a matter of fact, the description of this gem is rather unattrac- tive and the group of eyestones will remind the reader of a nest of poached eggs. The story is concerned with the Far East, and the adventure proper is mixed up with a side-issue as to the impersonation of one brother by the other.
