Ste,—Mr. Graham Greene, in a recent issue, extracted so much humour from what I had never thought to be more than a rather prosaic little handbook on Colloquial Persian that I feel it would be ungracious to carp or criticise. But I really must • rebuke him for inattention to his studies ; for if he had learnt Lesson 9 properly, he would have known that 1294 is only the Iranian equivalent of 1915 &D.—there are no Iranian sescentenarians as yet.
