Sin,—It may reasonably be doubted whether Lord Beaconsfield was indebted for the phrase " Peace with honour," either to Mr. Swinburne or to any one else ; it is certain that he was not indebted for it to Shakespeare. In the alleged parallel from Coriolamts, cited by your ten correspondents, it will be seen, on closer examination, that Volumnia says nothing about peace with honour.
