MR. RICHMOND.—A CORRECTION.

'SIR,—Will you kindly allow me to point out to your readers an unfortunate error (in my article of last week on the Grosvenor Gallery), by which I attributed the portrait of Lord Pembroke to Professor Herkomer, instead of to Mr. Richmond ? How I came to make so foolish a blunder, is as incompre- hensible to me as it is irritating. It is the more extraordinary as the picture in question is not in the least like Mr. Herkomer's painting, though it is a fine and most striking portrait. I have been very much overworked of late, which accounts in my own mind for the mistake, but does not in the least excuse it.—I am, Sir, &a,
