Last week the international jury of architects, who ve considered

the designs for the new League of itions Palace, announced that they had not selected of the 377 designs submitted. They expressed high predation of several of the designs, but they found at none had conformed strictly enough to the necessary Iditions. Probably the explanation is that several of e best schemes would cost more than the £560,000 ich is the maximum fixed by the League. The jury, wever, decided to distribute £6,600 among twenty- en of the architects. In this list France is represented eight architects, and no other country has more than r. No British architect is mentioned.
