In private, please

Sir: I wish to thank Richard Ingrams for expressing his forthright views (30 April) on the public flaunting via television of sexual abnormality, as if it were something healthy and to be encouraged. I am a wholehearted believer in personal freedom but within the constraints necessary to the promotion of a society which is not only free but is also decent and wholesome. If these unfortunate 'consenting adults' must pursue their homosexual practices then so be it – but let them do so in private and with the discretion appropriate to all sexual activity.
