Mr. Patrick Chalmers' Gun Dogs (Eyre and Spottiswoode, 25s.) contains

a dozen picturesque notes on the more im- portant breeds of sporting dogs. Slight and unpretentious in structure, these sketches have a warmth and colour that are wholly fascinating. There are, in addition, excellent examples of Mr. Chalmers' charming verse and twelve illustrations by B. Ward Binks.
