event by reviving A Match in the Dark, one of Mr. Charles Dance's smartest pro- ductions. In this Miss Fitzpatrick-an actress striking in appearance, intelligent in delivery, and over-artificial in manner-displayed herself as a new acquisition to the company. The piece also afforded Mrs. Wigan another opportunity of showing the public how long it has been ignorant of the merits of a very excellent actress. Her impersonation of the Scottish housekeeper, "Prudence" by name and by nature, was an excellent little bit of character-painting ; though she was not quite easy in the dialect.
