SIR,—Referring to your remarks on this subject in "News of the Week" in your last issue, you and your readers will be interested to learn that I am instructed by the Water Power Committee of the Board of Trade, of which Sir John Snell is Chairman, to examine and report upon the question of the available water- power in Ireland, and that the possibility of its application to the production of peat-fuel will not be lost sight of.—I am, Sir, &c.,
