Immaculate confinement

For straight, deadpan reporting the Daily Telegraph is in a class by itself. Its treatment of a Soho gang murder last week surely justified the presence of the item on the front page:

A man who was released from jail in January after serving four years for manslaughter was shot dead as he played at the pin-tables in a Soho amusement arcade last night. He was Alfred Zamparelli, 37, also known under the nickname, 'Italian Tony' ... Zamparelli, married to a former stripper and father of a six-month-old son ...
