homosexuality, with its fascination in the more bizarre practices, and advocacy of

repression through guilt, sad and curiously repellent.

I am reminded in more ways than one of a tract I read years ago by Jack London: a.

Polemic on the more bizarre evils of excess drink. Avoidance of the same was to be achieved by delving into the horrors, accepting remorse and guilt, followed by acceptance of enforced prohibition. We know now that Mr London was an alcoholic.
