The Ifoniteur of yesterday announced the return of the Empress

to Paris at half-past six on Thursday evening, and stated that her Ma- jesty's health was more satisfactory. The Globe Paris correspondent states that "the Austrian Envoy, De Bach, withdraws from the Vatican in sheer confusion at the breakdown of the famous Concordat, mainly his handiwork, and on which Pio None prided himself as a master stroke of his reign, but which, like other fond hallucinations, he finds utterly unsuited to the exigencies of modern society."
