General Kaleclin, the Hetrnan of the Don Cossacka, is reported

by the Anarchists to have taken arms against them, in conjunction with General Komiloff, who recently escaped from prison. Another Cossack, General Dotal, has occupied Orenburg in the Urals and moved northward towards Clieliablnali, near the Siberian border. "in order," the Anarchists say, "to cut off the supply of bread from Siberia to the front and the towns," though there is, of course, abundance of wheat in Russia. General Kornilors troops had a skirmish with the Anarchist forces on Sunday last to the north of Itharkoff, in the Ukraine, whose Revolutionary Government is said to be co-operating with the Cossacks. Meanwhile Finland has declared her independence, and Japanese troops have occupied Vladivostok to maintain order in Russia's chief Eastern port.
