Sir: The frequency with which Mr Auberon Waugh criticises, sneers at or just mentions the Sunday Times in his writing suggests that he is as much obsessed with the subject as Gilbert Pinfold was by the voices aboard his cruise ship. But even obsession must have its limits, and Mr Waugh now seems to have exceeded them. His article in your 1 December issue made much play with the alleged Sunday Times profile of Mr Afrooz, the Iranian Ambassador in London. The Sunday Times published no such profile. It appeared in the Observer. Frank Giles Deputy Editor, Sunday Times, 200 Gray's Inn Road, London WC1
