read under this heading an article in your paper of last Saturday which stated that the Bishops fear there might be a dearth of clergy after the war, and expressed the belief of the writer of the article that the reverse would be the case. I think such was certainly the case after the Peace of 1815, as I remember when a boy hearing an old clergyman telling my mother that he and a number of other men then left the Army and took Holy Orders, and that one of the small Colleges, I think it was St. Catherine's, Cambridge, which was much favoured by these men, went at that time by the name of "The Church
