Dr. Cumston's learned History of Medicine (Kegan Paul, 16s.), from

the time of the Pharaohs to the end of the eighteenth century, dismisses Hindu medicine in a brief twenty pages of amusing stories. Islamic medicine is also very briefly touched on, but it is with the rise of medicine in Europe that the book is chiefly concerned and here the treatment is full and all that can be desired. We can recommend this book with confidence.
