That's Emigrant's Introduction to an Acquaintance with the British American

Colonies, is, in the first place, too late in the day; for though it advocates an extensive system of emigration, it is very far inferior to the principle of colonization now under ex- periment in South Australia. In the second place, the author's skill is less than his knowledge, whilst his knowledge is not turned to the best account. Some practical hints will be gleaned from the volume, as well as some useful information ; but we have met with better books, long ago.
