The Archbishop of Canterbury has refused to take any measures

towards inflicting ecclesiastical censure on the Reverend Mr. Stunner of Hayes.

Shocks of an earthquake were felt at Manchester, Bury, and other places in Lancashire, on Tuesday morning.

At the Loughborough Petty Sessions, on the 6th instant, John Farmer was sentenced to three months' hard labour in prison, for neglecting his work, and striking his master, William Johnson, a farmer of Quorndon. From the somewhat contradictory evidence it would seem, that the pri- soner's offence was by no means serious, and the punishment out- rageously severe. The Justices were the Reverend J. Dudley and Mr. C. 31. Phillips.
