Daring the early part of the week the Consol Market

was very firm, and on Tuesday a rise of as much as 1 per cent. took place in the quotations. Consols were then 954. to 95f, but on heavy sales for the realization of profits prices have since experienced a decline of about f per cent. At the close of business yesterday, Consols for money were 941 to 94i ; and for account, 94f to 941. Indian and Brighton Railway Stock, owing to the announcement that the report of the Committee of Investigation, to be issued to-day, will be very unfavourable, has been depressed, and has been quoted as low as 57f to 58. Other Railway Shares have also declined in value since the close of last week. The scrip of the Russian Railway Loan has declined from 1} prem. to dis., yesterday's closing price being it to f dis. The Bank return is very favourable. The supply of bullion held by the Bank now amounts to 21,330,4001. The stock held by the Bank of France is 34,536,7701.
