The International Race between four American rowers and four members

of the London Rowing Club came off on Monday, amidst the kind of weather to which we have this year been accustomed. The course was from Mortlake to Putney, and it was evident front the start that the Americans had no chance whatever. The Londoners rowed away from them from the start. The only special interest in the race lay in the proof it afforded that the English style of rowing is the correct one, and that men who row with their arms only cannot compete with men who row with their whole bodies.
