Wahner Place, Crawford Street, Marylebone. They saw a naked child paling up shavings in the passage. Following the child, they found in a room, hare of furniture, a naked woman lying insensible on the floor, and three Ail- &en, all naked except one whose sole clothing was an old frock. They were starving ; their last clothing had been pledged by the little girl in the frock. Instant assistance was rendered. The woman has already died in the workhouse; the two elder children are in a dying state- thetsto younger may recover. To account for this tragedy, one of the elder children states_ that the mother would not suffer them to apply for relief., The children are illegitimate-abandoned by their father.
