King Fo, the Lord of Misrule. By Robert Dudley. (Thomas

de la Rue and Co.)—This book rather misses its mark. The pictures are not badly drawn ; but both in picture and text a sort of rowdy vulgarity seems to be mistaken for humour. A turn-up nose and a large corporation are not funny per se, even when crowned by a royal crown ; and if there is any particular fun in making a king kick his lords-in-waiting, it has been done so often before, and so much better done, that it was hardly worth doing again.
