Lord Grey of Fallodon returned to public life with a

speech at Berwick on Monday night in support of the prospective candidature of Mr. Walter Runciman at the next election. By far the most important part of his speech was that which dealt with Ireland ; and whatever we may think of the views which he expressed, or of their suitability from a man who had been in the late Liberal Government, no serious student of affairs would fail to welcome back to restored health and renewed vigour a mind which could think so clearly and speak so dispassionately.
