is a quarterly of great value to students of natural science. The compact statements of " Recent Advances in Science" are especially useful. Among the articles in the October number we may mention Mr. Julian Huxley's important though highly condensed paper on " Some Implications of the Chromosome Theory of Heredity," and Mr. W. W. Nelson's proposal for a new arrangement of the typewriter keyboard on what seems to us a much improved plan.
