When I wrote last week of " Orange "' riots.

in Belfast on July 12th and later, I had no idea of apportioning responsibility for the outbreak. Disturbances in Belfast on the anniversary of the Battle of the Boyne are unfortunately frequent and they have by cornmeal consent a religious origin. This was what I had in mind—and nothing else at all. An Orange procession was attacked, and several Orangemen were killed. Let us agree to call these Orange-Green riots, or Belfast riots, or merely riots. I was concerned simply with the use being made of the affair in Germany.
