Penn- sylvania has told home : some are angry, some affect to joke in turn— but then they are not Sydney Smiths ; while some are struck with the justice' of his strictures. Here is a specimen from a New York letter of the 30:11 Novetni er, by an intelligent writer of this class ; with a vitird too about Mr. Tyler- • " Sydney Smith's letter wakes the Pennsylvanians mad. I am glad of it— they deserve it all: they were worse than mad before, or else, with the ability to pay their debts, they would never have so dishonoured themselves. I don't care how many more such letters Mr. Smith writes. By and by, our people, flpecially in Pennsylvania, will get lashed into shame. ; 'Out Congress opens on Monday next.
