POETRY.

THE HAWARDEN HORACE. I.exxvie.

Ad Pyrillum Plosculum.

PERSICOS odi. puer, apparatus, ORIENTAL flOWCTS, my Cyril,

Displicent nexaephilyra coronae; (Save of language), I detest : Mitte seetari, rose quo locorum Cull for ins no costly orchid Sera moretur. To adorn my blameless breast.

Nor essay to deck my raiment With the blushing Englida rose, For its brutal Saxon odour Aggravates my Scottish nose.

Simplici myrto nihil al]abores Me as Minister the fragrance Sedulus cure neque te minis- Of the leek doth most arride, truin With the shamrock and the Dedecet myrtus, neque me sub thistle ante In a triple posy tied : Vito bibentem. So, beneath my grand umbrella Firmly fixed on College Green, Let us deviate from duty In a deluge of peteen.
