Last Sunday night the Republicans began a campaign of arson

in Dublin. Since then several houses belonging to leaders and supporters of the Free State have been fired. In one case the incendiaries were warned that children were asleep at the top of the house, but they nevertheless set fire to the house. The mother of the children was able to save them, but not before she and one of the children had been injured. Another aspect of the Repnbliban campaign is to threaten journal- ists with death. The staffs of all the journals which support the Free State have received the anonymous sentences. The papers of Monday announced that the Duke of Abercorn had been appointed Governor of • Northern Ireland.
