ELEMENTARY GEOLOGY. By A. P. Coleman and W. A. Parks.

(Dent. 15s. net.) The authors of this well-written and clearly-arranged text- book are Professors respectively of Geology and Palaeontology in the University of Toronto. They had the happy idea of giving local interest to their work by drawing the examples so far as possible from Canadian sources—a method of treat- ment which, as they justly claim, "introduces the student to the subject by reference to localities and geological structures with which he is familiar and lays a local foundation on which the greater geological history of the world may be built." But they should have added an index.
