SIR,—I can't argue with Mr. Ramsay Muir about might-have- beens. Let it be agreed that he knows better than Mr. Lloyd George what the boundaries of Czecho-Slovakia ought to be, better than Mr. Chamberlain how Herr Hitler ought to have been handled, and, best of all, how this country might, even single-handed, have performed all the obligations attaching to the League of Nations. It seems a pity that with all this knowledge he should not be in a position of greater responsibility.
