Books for the Merchant Navy SIR,—May I remind your readers—some

of whom have helped us in the past—that we still welcome gifts of books for the men of the Merchant Navy. Although most of the books which we supply to British ships are bought new with funds provided by shipowners, gifts in good condition make welcome additional reading and help to increase the range and variety of our ships' libraries. Gifts should be ient to me at the Seafarers' Education Service, 207 Balham High Road, London, SW17.
